Hello, fellow Deviants. It has been ages and ages since I've been here, and it's good to be back. I had a very busy summer and not much time for taking and posting photos. I was hired by a photographer friend of mine to do post-processing on her wedding photos, and that consumed many of my waking hours. It was incredibly fun, though. I LOVE to do post-processing. As a victim of the bad wedding photographer (read, NO photos of my husband and I from our wedding), I love making other people's wedding photos memorable. I think every bride should be glowing on her wedding day!
Now I am back to school (teaching) and you'd think things would be more normal. Not so. I broke my ankle 2 weeks before the school year began and I am still hobbling around in a cast. Fun enough as that sounds, it gets "better". My classroom is on the 2nd floor of a sixty year old building with no elevator. Let's just say, my morning "commute" up the stairs is unusual . . .

On a more positive note . . . I have the BEST husband in the whole world. I've been shooting my photos for the past year with a Fujifilm Finepix S1000fd - a very fine camera for a point-and-shoot. However, I really want to begin my own side business doing portrait work. I've been researching and pricing out Nikon d90's for about 3 months now, often dreamily sighing because I just couldn't justify spending the money. Well, my dear husband surprised me with a new Nikon d90, tripod, and all of the accessories yesterday! I am a lucky girl. Not only that, I have my first paying customer scheduled for a family portrait in 3 weeks! I'm in business!!! Yay!
So, I hope you will be seeing more of me again, if you care to. Take care!
